Buffy & The Corrupter Ch. 06

Spike was still chanting out the binding incantation. Buffy thought that it would never end. It was nearly forty minutes since the Elder demon had first appeared. Now, the albino behemoth just stood there, eyes closed, as Spike’s magic worked upon him. With a twist of her head, Buffy looked around the basement in which she was captive. Faith was strapped to the next table, but had now regained consciousness. Behind Buffy, in one corner of the room, Anya was dabbing at a cut on Xander’s forehead. He was sitting upright, holding the back of his head where one of Glory’s minion’s had clubbed him. Nearby, a huge, black werewolf crouched, watching Anya. (more…)

I woke up, my alarm ringing. I reached over and turned it off. I looked at the clock, 8.00am. I smiled to myself, I had come a long way since I first moved to New York. I had moved over a year ago from California. I got a job at a big corporate building as some data processor. A 9-5. I was at the bottom of the ladder. On the Track

“I’m cold,” I complained to my best friend Jessica while we climbed up the steep hill to the track and field stadion.

“Don’t complain, Jenna” was all she said. “You’re about to meet the ultimate superstar of my college, so enjoy it.”

I sighed. “Listen, I realize you’re proud you know Alan Webb and all, but can’t we meet him when he’s done running and comes back down?”

“No, because Amber and Sarah are waiting for us up there. Besides, he looks pretty hot while he runs.”

I rolled my eyes and continued climbing until we had finally reached the top. Jessica led me through a small gate to the inside of the stadion, where three runners struggled on the track, and two girls sat in the bottom row of the huge bleachers. (more…)

Charlie’s Angels: Angels In Love

“I never said you couldn’t eat the whole box, I said you shouldn’t,” Sabrina said, walking into the office.

“Well, either way,” Jill smiled, closing the doors behind them. “Hi Bos!”

Bosley was stationed at his desk as usual, leaning back comfortably in his chair. He smiled at them through a rather strange facial expression.

“Anything wrong?” Sabrina asked, sitting down on the couch.

At that moment Kelly emerged from beneath his desk with a small white smear on her upper lip.

Kelly and Kris sat on the sofa watching TV on a warm Friday night.

“Do you really think Charlie will hire me?” Kris wondered aloud.

“Of course he will,” Kelly said. “you’re perfect for the job.”

“He doesn’t have to hire me because I’m Jill’s sister.”

“He’s not, he’s hiring you because you’re a good cop and we all like you.” She leaned in and planted a kiss on the corner of Kris’s mouth. Kris turned her head, sliding her lips over Kelly’s until they were locked together in the first of many long kisses. Their lips pressed together softly and sweetly like a first kiss every time. Game, Set & Match

“Game, set and match, Miss Williams.” The umpire called out as her opponent’s flailing hand failed to connect with the yellow ball for the last time. Serena threw her hands up in celebration having just won Wimbledon…again. I clapped politely as the rest of the audience cheered wildly. I had been rooting for the Russian beauty who had been her opponent. Her head was down and she looked to be crying. My heart went out to her, having come all this way for nothing. The two approached the net, one clearly happier than the other and shook hands. I stood up to leave, though nobody in the screaming crowd noticed me. I located the nearest exit and walked through it. “Are you sure he wanted us to come right now? It’s not even noon yet,” Kelly said as the jet slowed to a halt.

“For the fiftieth time, he said it’s urgent. Here, you can read the cablegram again!” Sabrina slapped into Kelly’s hand a folded square of yellow paper, which she quickly opened up. Her lips moved as she read the message to herself.

“‘Diablo Island’? I’ve never even heard of this place,” Jill frowned over her shoulder.

A short distance from the plane, a jeep was parked in the tall grass. A man wearing sunglasses stood leaning against it, and the instant all three of them stepped off the jet he rushed over to them. The jet rolled off across the field again, the roar of the engines growing quieter and quieter. (more…)
