Morrighu rolls over and finds her self staring into Valen’s big blue eyes. He grins at her, “Good morning, my lady. You’re up early.”

Sealing the Deal

She wakes him in the middle of the night kissing him, “I have it! I know what to do. Remind me in the morning. Talk to Tebimar.”

She puts her head on his chest as she curls up against him and goes back to sleep to the sound of his chuckle. He looks down at her and smiles before going back to sleep himself. An early knock rouses him and he answers the door to find that their armor has arrived from Rizolvir. He takes the bundle and pays the apprentice. He pours a glass of water and goes to wake Morrighu. *Troublesome Matrons*

While she’s busy packing, Nathyrra approaches him, “You realize that you are her weak link now. You must be more careful with yourself. When we lost you, I thought we had lost her as well. We simply cannot afford to lose both of you. Losing either of you would demoralize our troops dangerously. Both of you would be disastrous.” Valen arches a brow at her so she continues, “The other Three came here to see what was wrong; her distress was so great. He turns it over in his mind again and again but he can find no flaw in his logic.

He is certain he’s right.

Morrighu waits patiently while Nathyrra finishes packing up.

She looks at Valen and attempts to suppress a smile, “So now you are indeed my defender.”

Valen blushes furiously at the reference. Nathyrra returns with her pack on her shoulder and Morrighu leads them back to the apprentice. (more…)

*Going Sideways*

Valen reaches back, grabs Morrighu’s waist and sweeps her past Zesyyr’s guards.

Once they are outside the public house, she looks at Valen, “What was that about?”

Valen chuckles, “Zesyyr wants her answer now, apparently. I told them that we had urgent business to take care of and that we’d give them an answer as soon as we are able.” (more…)

True to his word, Valen wakes her early and she struggles out of bed so that she can get moving only to find that he’s brought her another hot bath, “Perhaps the warmth will loosen you up a bit. It strikes me that you are much to stiff to fight.” (more…)

*Cycles and Watches *

She looks up at Valen, “We’re done here then, at least for the moment. I think it’s time to be off to river and have some brandy.”

Rizolvir chuckles and Valen grins at her, “Perhaps I finally get to see if you can hold your liquor or not.” He puts an arm around her shoulders to escort her carefully to the docks and is surprised when he feels her arm slip around his waist while they walk. Morrighu looks at him, “We are both winded and worse from the fight. Nathyrra needs time to rest so that her spells will replenish. I would rather not take us into our next battle so depleted. I fear…I fear that we will face the Maker himself.” (more…)
