The next day, Sue calls with good news.

“I talked to my friend at the LA office and after a lengthy conversation, she”s got something for you. She wants to meet with you when you”re ready.”

“Thank you, Sue. Thanks for everything.”

“Don’t mention it. You are a very special person to me, and I want to make sure that you’re taken care of. Not that Vin won’t do a good job, but at least I can help a little.”

I write down the manager”s name and number and promise to call her in the next few days. The doctor comes by for one last check-up and says that I can go home that day, but to take it easy for a week or so. (more…)

Diesel Chronicles Ch. 08

The bright sunshine streaming through the windows woke me from my slumber. A slow smile spread across my face as I realized that Vin was still asleep.

Dark lashes framed his closed eyes and his lips were slightly parted. A little chill shot through my body as I gazed at his soft lips and recalled how wonderful they had felt on my body last night. A hint of dark stubble appeared over his tanned face and I had to resist the temptation of reaching out to run my hand over it for fear of waking him. My gaze shifted lower, over his muscular chest, which rose and fell softly with each breath he took, over his flat stomach, then further down. My body tingled with the memory of the night we shared. With restraint I didn”t realize I possessed, I slid out of bed and quietly made my way to the bathroom. (more…)

Diagnosis Murder Ch. 01

Entering his beach house home, Lieutenant Steve Sloan dropped his suitcase and stretched tiredly. He wasn’t due back from the Conference until the next day, but the final speaker had cancelled and rather than stay away one more night, Steve had chosen to come home. He’d missed his young lover for the two days and nights he’d been away already and his drive home had become somewhat uncomfortable due to the thoughts of a naked Jesse Travis and making love chasing through his mind. He cocked his head, hearing a mixture of CD music and his love’s off-key voice singing. Smiling, the big detective moved to the living room, then stood in the doorway. Diesel Chronicles Ch. 10

True to his word, he called a few days later. We talked for a little while, catching up on what had been going on over the past few days. He and the scouting team had finalized their plans, and it looked like production would begin in a few months, which meant that he”d be back in Texas for awhile. He had talked to a few people about looking at my manuscript, so that was in the works.

We talked every few days, catching up on what the other was doing. Things had calmed down around the office and getting back to normal. One day, Sue came in to see how things were going. (more…)

The lights went down. The gong sounded. The mist started pouring into the crowded arena, and, as the gong sounded again, a tall imposing figure dressed completely in black appeared as if from nowhere, the graveyard fog billowing eerily around his feet.

He started slowly moving towards the ring, the mist cloaking him from the waist down so he appeared to float down the aisle. His presence was so forceful that the normally rowdy wrestling crowd was completely silent after their initial cheer at the first gong. They watched as the spectre walked slowly down the ramp. He reached the stairs to the ring, and lifting his black leather coat deliberately out of the way, he mounted the steps. (more…)

CSI Resolutions and Romance

The month following his attack had been hard on Danny. He’d been in the job long enough to be jostled before, sworn at, spat at, but the memory of the knife pressed against his throat wouldn’t go away. The sensation invaded his dreams, causing him to wake up almost every night and he was getting more tired by the day. Every time he swallowed he was sure he was reliving those sensations again. Eating made him retch, drinking wasn’t much better and all of his pants felt looser than before his assailant had surprised him. (more…)

CSI: Revelations

Possibly due to the airline strikes and resulting drop in tourism, it was unexpectedly quiet in the city that never sleeps. Grissom got caught up on paperwork as the rest of the team processed remaining cases. Although odd, it was reassuring that nature and humanity could co-exist with no fatal occurrences. While that would certainly change, it made for a welcome break.

Grissom assembled the team in an impromptu meeting in the ME’s autopsy room. Nick, Sara, and Warrick sat on the empty, shiny steel table while the others huddled around. (more…)
